Milos is an island full of churches and monasteries, just like most islands and places in Greece, therefore many celebrations and festivities take place throughout the year and almost every day during summer months. By attending these festivities, travelers will have the chance to enjoy traditional delicacies and local wine accompanied by traditional folk dances.  The most important celebrations are:
    
  • The festival of Agia Kyriaki on July 6th
  • The festival of Agia Marina at Halakas on July 16th
  • The festival of Timios Stavros at Golgotha in Plakes on July 31st
  • The festival of the Holy Mary Dormition at Zefyria on August 14th
  • The festival of the Holy Mary Dormition & Agios Haralambos at Adamas on August 15th
  • The festival of Panagia Faneromeni at Trypiti on August 22nd
  • The festival of Agios Fanourios at Pollonia on August 26th
  • The festival of Agios Ioannis Prodromos at Agrilies and Provatas on August 28th
  • The festival of Agios Alexandros at Katsouli on August 29th
  • The festival of Agios Sostis at Provatas on September 6th
  • The festival of Panagia Korfiatissa at Plaka on September 8th
  • Milos Festival, held in the first weekend of July, is a 3 day festival with cultural events, local specialties and dances organized by the Municipality of Milos.
