Local Specialties

The island of Sikinos does not boast any particular gastronomic tradition but it shares some of the dishes of the Cyclades group in general.

Some of the must dishes when you are vacationing on the island are the stuffed lamb or rabbit baked in the oven with potatoes, the rooster cooked in wine and red sauce with spaghetti and the Greek salad with locally produced capers.

In terms of sweet delights, the "pasteli" is a must (sesame and honey forming a soft bar) and diagkourenia which is a porridge from watermelon juice and dough poured with honey and sesame on top.
