Greeks Join Forces in London to Boost Tourism

Up Greek Tourism launched its exciting new campaign this week! The aim is to raise £12,000 in only 3 weeks to fund a Piccadilly Circus billboard promoting Greece as a tourist destination.

The fundraising went live this morning on the crowd funding website Loudsauce. The advertising video, which will be displayed on one of Piccadilly Circus’ famous billboards as of February 1st 2013, 24/7 for 2 weeks, will be created by the award-winning visual designer Charis Tsevis. His unique design technique will use the photographs of all those who donate money to create a beautiful mosaic of images showcasing Greece’s beauty.

The two previous campaigns in New York and Washington DC raised $30,000 and sparked worldwide interest from the media creating a buzz and a sense of positivity for Greeks and their country. Following this success, the London initiative aims to achieve even greater exposure.

“Up Greek Tourism” hopes that its efforts will boost the profile of Greece as a tourist destination and will show the world that Greeks remain an innovative, resilient and hospitable nation.
